How Time Travel Can Be Feasible And What Are The Biggest Problems

Time can only be observed indirectly based on the entropy generated by its passage. But that hasn't stopped mankind from wanting and working toward a viable means of going back in time since our oldest ancestor thought that it would change something it has done in the past. Thus, time travel has become a topic of great interest.

“Something funny is definitely happening with time travel,” Dr. Paul M. Sutter, a research professor in astrophysics at the Institute for Advanced Computational Science at Engadget, told Engadget. Stony Brook University.

â € œWe have a theory of physics, which is general relativity – the story of our gravity — which is in perfect agreement with time travel. You can build special situations that allow you to travel back in time, but any other area of physics says, no, you can't travel back in time. So who's right?

To answer this question, a team of researchers from the University of Queensland, Australia, reported that they had mathematically devised a solution to one of the main obstacles to time travel.

Grandpa's paradox, as described in “Back to the Future,” is a true wall of theoretical physics. In essence, Grandpa's paradox holds that if you went back in time to kill your own grandfather, then you would never have been born, because he would have already died. and you would no longer exist due to the lack of the necessary reproduction.

However, the University of Queensland study suggests that the universe is a little more flexible than that. Their paper argues that even if someone were to go back in time and kill their grandfather, the universe would reorganize around the event in such a way. So that the existing chronology remains valid, regardless of any action taken by the time traveler.

“In the example of the zero patient with coronavirus, you could try to stop the infection of the zero patient, but in doing so, you will catch the virus and become a zero patient, or someone else would do it,” said Dr. Fabio Costa, a physicist at the University of Queensla, said in a statement.

â € œWhatever you did, the essential events would recalibrate around you. This would mean that – regardless of your actions – a pandemic would occur, giving your lower self the motivation to turn around and stop. If you try to create a paradox, the events will always be adjusted to avoid any inconsistencies. The range of mathematical processes we have discovered shows that time travel with free will is logically possible in our universe, without any paradox.

I mean, imagine if Marty McFly had let Biff give birth to his father. The universe would have automatically found a way to make sure that Marty still existed, somehow, to go back and change history in this way. He and his brothers would not have disappeared from the photo.

The professor of astrophysics at Princeton University, J. Richard Gott III, argued that time travel can be made possible by cosmic ropes – which can be infinitely long.
